Sonam Kapoor likes to be pampered

Many might have heard of Sonam Kapoor even before she plunged into Bollywood because she is the daughter of veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Her first two films Saawariya and Delhi-6 failed at the box office but she is still hot and in demand. This pretty girl, who is currently busy promoting for her upcoming release I Hate Luv Storys, likes to be pampered.

Sonam plays a character who loves love stories in the film I Hate Luv Storys. Interestingly, she is very much like her on-screen character. She said that he loves to be pampered with sweets, cakes, chocolates etc. And her revelation comes as no surprise because she is used to pampering from his dad.

I Hate Luv Storys, starring Sonam and Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor, is a romantic comedy scheduled for release on June 2. It is directed by debutante Punit Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar and Ronnie Screwvala.

Why is Anushka signed for Patiala House?

Ok, here's the peg. Anushka Sharma is in good company. The question is, shall we thank Aditya Chopra or Nikhil Advani or both? So here's a short story on why Nikhil Advani opted for Anushka Sharma for Patiala House.

One of the close sources from London reveals, "Nikhil Advani still remembers the day when he read an article on why Aditya Chopra cast Anushka Sharma opposite Shahrukh Khan for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The reason which Adi gave to the Press was that he wanted the audiences to feel that they were watching a SRK film but landed up coming out of the cinema houses seeing Suri, the character SRK plays in the film."

The source adds further, "If Nikhil had cast any well known face opposite Akshay Kumar, the audiences reaction would be different. Here they are clearly going to go in the cinemas watching an Akshay Kumar film but he wants them to come out of the theaters watching the character Akki plays. Nikhil wanted to make the characters real and so he cast Anushka Sharma. People are going to remember the character Anushka plays more than the actress of RNBDJ. Add to that, she is only remembered through RNBDJ as of now. Patiala House is a film with real characters, real moments and real emotions. In fact, Nikhil has also decided to tag this film 'A film by Nikhil Advani' as it remains true to himself more than giving out any wrong notions about the film to the audiences."

Well, for now, all Nikhil needs to do is - Thank Aditya Chopra for roping in Anushka Sharma. And two, pray that Patiala House brings the house down with its antics, emotions and a good story telling.

RGV compliments Johar for 'I Hate Luv Stories' title

Bollywood filmmakers Ram Gopal Verma and Karan Johar are mostly at loggerheads, but for a change RGV has complimented Johar for the title of his upcoming film I Hate Luv Storys.

"Hey Karan I Hate Luv Storys is the best ever title from you. I am really jealous that I couldn't think of it," Varma posted on Johar's Twitter page.

Johar replied : "Thanks Ramu!!!"

The two directors have distinctly different styles of filmmaking. While Johar's forte is romantic dramas, Verma is known for his horrors and thrillers and they never fall short of taking a dig at each other often.

'Skin show is no big deal for me'

Anglo Indian actress Aruna Shields made her sizzling debut in Prince, starring opposite Vivek Oberoi in bikinis and barely there outfits.

Her next, the just released Mr Singh Mrs Mehta directed by debutant director Pravesh Bhardwaj saw her do without clothes altogether!

Rajul Hegde caught up with the young starlet to know more. Excerpts:

You have acted in two movies, but we barely know about you...

I am half-Indian and half-English/Scottish. My dad came over to UK when there was shortage of doctors in England. He is from Bangalore and his mother tongue is Kannada. Unfortunately, he didn't teach us the language.

I have come to India at least 8-9 times before to meet my grandparents and relatives. My parents are in the medical profession, and one brother is an accountant and the other an engineer. I am the odd one out.

When a dream inspired the Twilight saga

It's still almost two weeks away, but already advance ticket sales have all but ensured its success.

It's Twilight: Eclipse, the third film adapted from Stephenie Meyer's four-book Twilight fiction saga, and it's likely to be the year's biggest blockbuster.

Looking at Twilight today -- the first two films have raked in over $1 billion at the box office, and Meyer was the top-selling author in 2008 and 2009 -- it's hard to believe the phenomena started so humbly.

Inspired by a vivid dream in 2003, Meyer, who had never written so much as a short story, wrote her first novel Twilight, a tale of forbidden human-vampire love between Bella Swan (played in the films by Kristen Stewart) and bloodsucker Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), in just three months.

The Daily Telegraph, a UK daily newspaper, recently sat down with cast-members of the third movie, to get their insiders' take on the Twilight phenomena.

'I think the success of the Twilight movies, not just the books, comes down to Stephenie Meyer,' Bryce Dallas Howard, daughter of director Ron Howard, said in the article.

She's joining the Twilight cast for Eclipse, wherein she plays the vampire Victoria. 'You really see the world through Bella's eyes, and you fall in love with Edward, and then get your heart broken, and fall in love with (Jacob Black, a werewolf played by Taylor Lautner), and then you're in danger.'

It's Howard whose character moves along the plot of Eclipse. Victoria's soulmate was killed by Edward at the conclusion of Twilight; now she's out for revenge, and hopes to kill Bella so Edward can understand her pain.

In protecting Bella, vampires and werewolves -- two groups notoriously at odds with one another -- must work together, forcing brooding Edward and muscle-bound Jacob to work hand-in-hand.

It's also darker and perhaps more racier than previous the previous Twilight instalments.

'This film is definitely a bit darker than the others,' 20-year-old Kristen Stewart told The Telegraph. 'Bella's conflicts intensify - she must choose between Edward and Jacob - and the climax of the movie is more violent than anything we have dealt with before. Also, it feels as though the characters can handle a little bit more of a mature storyline, because they are older.'

Eclipse also represents the introduction of English director David Slade into the series. Appropriately, Slade's resume features the adaptation of vampire-filled graphic novel, 30 Days of Night.

Soon, the cast begins work on the saga's final chapter, Breaking Dawn, which will be released as two separate movies, with Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) as director.

Viveka Babajee's boyfriend moves court for bail

Three days after the former supermodel Viveka Babaji was found hanging at her apartment in Bandra, Gautam Vohra, her alleged boyfriend has moved sessions court in Mumbai for an anticipatory bail.

The move comes after he was summoned by the police for questioning after a diary was recovered from the dead model's house which reportedly had words written – 'you killed me Gautam Vohra.' The hearing on the bail plea is expected to take place at 2:30 pm on Monday.

The former Miss Mauritius had apparently committed suicide at her Mumbai apartment on Friday. The police are also waiting for the visceral report which would determine if she consumed poison or drugs. It is expected in a couple of weeks.

At the moment, the they have registered a case and are gathering circumstantial evidence. They are also in the process of recording statements of the dead model's friends and relatives.

Sources in Mumbai Police say that they are not yet considering Vohra as an accused. They say that it is too early to point fingers at anyone.

Viveka's neighbours have told police that they heard her having a row with somebody. The police suspect that the model might have taken the extreme step after a split with her boyfriend.

Vohra has not yet spoken to either the media or the police on the entire episode. However, her mother apparently told the media, off record, that her son was not having an affair with Viveka Babajee and that Gautam Vohra and the model were just good friends.

The relatives and family members of Viveka turned up at the hospital on Monday to take possession of her body. They are expected to conduct her funeral today.

John, Bipasha say no to aphrodisiac

As a power couple, John Abraham and Bipasha Basu draw the line at health and fitness products and services endorsements. Proof of that recently came when they turned down an offer to promote an Indian herbal aphrodisiac despite being offered crores.

A source confirms, "They were approached to endorse the product but refused. Though the concoction consists high quality extracts from some of the world's most exotic herbs, it's a potent and effective natural sex enhancer."

No viagra, please!

The buzz is that the aphrodisiac contains viagra. The source adds, "John's manager was approached for a couple endorsement but she said that they don't back products that have viagra and said no. The jodi is committed to health and fitness and Bipasha has promised to endorse only health products."

When contacted Bipasha says, "I strongly believe in credible products and these are in sync with my passion for fitness and health. I am very happy to be associated with products that encourage people to switch to a healthier lifestyle. But I have never been approached for the other thing (the herbal aphrodisiac)."

However she stresses she would endorse products not connected to health and fitness but are "In sync with my personality. It could be cosmetics, automobiles, luxury products, fashion goods, home appliances etc." Bips endorses a brand of honey only because the brand is committed to health and fitness. Says the actress, "I strongly believe in credible products and this one is in sync with my passion for health.

Angelina Jolie, not Madhuri, to play Draupadi?

Indian filmmaker Prakash Jha has a dream project Draupadi, in which he wants to cast Hollywood star Anjelina Jolie in the lead role.

After the success of Rajneeti, which was inspired by the great Indian epic Mahabharata, Jha is ready for another movie, which will also be based on the same epic.

Draupadi is believed to be a dream project of Prakash Jha. Earlier, the filmmaker wanted to work on the project with the once Bollywood queen Madhuri Dixit in the lead. But the project got shelved due to budget issues and lack of authentic adaptations.

The glorious success of Rajneeti has revived his dream project once again and now he wants to make Draupadi in English with an international cast and crew. And, the news is that Jha wants to cast Anjelina Jolie for the title role.

Speaking to the media, Jha stated, “I have been planning to make Draupadi for so many years, which will be my ultimate tribute to womanhood. My first choice was Madhuri but now I’m planning to make it an international film. I want to make the film a grand epic with an international cast and huge budget.”

Jha added, “My Draupadi would be set in the mountains so the actors should have an exotic look. In Peter Brooks’s adaptation of the Mahabharata on stage, you can see Mallika Sarabhai with exquisite features.”

We can expect a modern and foreign Mahabharata from the filmmaker now!

Meghna Naidu ‘pregnant’ from a fling?

Actress Meghna Naidu complained to the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell in Mumbai this week, about a hacker who got her ‘pregnant’.

Unknown to the actress, a hacker had breached her Gmail account a few weeks ago and was chatting away with her friends, falsely claiming that Meghna ‘was pregnant from a fling with a guy whose name she couldn’t remember’ and that she ‘needed advice’. How imaginative!

But when this impersonator said hello to the actresses’ ex-publicist Dale Bhagwagar on the chat, the PR specialist sensed something fishy about the way Meghna was chatting. “PRs specialize in understanding the psyche of their clients. I take special efforts and time to comprehend how each client thinks, feels, behaves and talks. This person on chat had a subtle devilish sarcasm, and as I know Meghna, she’s cool and clear, but hardly sarcastic,” said the publicist. So immediately after the chat, Dale called her residence to verify if it was Meghna on the chat, and her parents told him, she had gone for her yoga class.

When the actress returned the call an hour later, she was shocked to learn about the conversation. Meghna said, “I was paranoid when I checked my Google chats. This imposter had been chatting with a lot of my friends and claimed I was pregnant out of a fling. To add to this craziness, he wrote, I’d forgotten the name of the guy who made me pregnant. All this bogus talk was insane and scary.”

The publicist calmed the horrified actress and guided her to change her email privacy settings and escorted her to the Crime Branch the next morning. “We complained at the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell. Sadly and strangely, the cops there didn’t seem to be much interested about my case,” lamented Meghna. “I hope they are able to track the hacker,” she added.

I Enjoyed kissing Vivek Oberoi: Aruna Shields

"After doing a hell lot of hopping and jumping off the buildings sequences, it was a relief to stand still and kiss him.

Plus, he's a wonderful kisser, " declared British actress Aruna Shields who was in Noida yesterday to promote her Friday release Mr Singh Mrs Mehta. "But the experience of kissing Prashant (her co-star in the flick) wasn't that wonderful as he fancies a stubble.

He was very uncomfortable shooting intimate scenes and finally I had to pitch in with 'much needed help'. Later, he was comfortable, " said the bold (and obviously beautiful) Aruna.

She adds, "Posing nude for a scene in the movie wasn't that difficult as I'm very comfortable with my body and when I do a film, I donate my body to the script. The scene has a very artistic approach and has been shot in a very neat manner. I am not scared of controversies."

Raavan in US: Good reviews, poor box office performance

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in RaavanRaavan, which got fairly decent reviews in The New York Times and Los Angeles Times, opened to a disappointing box office in North America.

Distributor Reliance has said it grossed $550,000 in three days. The previous Mani Ratnam film Guru which also paired Abhishek Bachchan and Aiswarya Rai had opened three years ago with a $1 million weekend in America and Canada and went on to earn an impressive $2.4 million in both countries.

If Raavan follows the standard rate of attrition in North America (about 60 percent slum in the second week), it will have a hard time reaching $1 million.

Many viewers in New York and New Jersey cinemas thought that the film was too brutal and at times very dark. A few said they had come to the theatres imagining the film was a modern day take on Ram, Ravan and Sita but were surprised by the twists in the story and that the character played by Vikram had shades of good and bad. They had thought only the character of Ravan would be dark and demonic.

It looks like Raavan will gross about half of what two recent successes have grossed in North America. Raajneeti, a bonafide success and Kites each grossed about $1.6 million in North America, though the latter was deemed a flop because of its huge production cost (estimated to be $20 million).

How Raavan will hold in the next two weeks will be crucial to the film's final fate.

Meanwhile, it is getting some respect from mainstream publications. The New York Times called the film 'richly atmospheric.'

It added: 'Raavan has Bollywood glamour aplenty, with the lovely if occasionally dramatically challenged Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.'

But the film's real star is Mani Ratnam, it asserted, ' a talented visual storyteller who directs action crisply and fills the screen with striking images. Artful but not arty, Mr. Ratnam?delivers the goods.

A R Rahman's score is 'excellent,' the review added, and singled out 'an eye-popping climactic battle, between the bad-good Beera and the good-bad Dev, on a teetering suspension bridge. And that, folks, is entertainment.'

LA Times argued that it is Aishwarya who is a scene-stealer in the film. 'Bollywood superstar Abishek Bachchan has the title role of the romantic adventure epic Raavan, the review asserted, ' but the movie belongs to his exquisite real-life wife Aishwarya Rai. A blue-eyed beauty who resembles Myrna Loy...'

It added: 'Director Mani Ratnam and his colleagues give Bollywood fans full value. Ratnam's pace is steadfastly brisk, and his film is replete with dizzying camerawork, myriad complications, violent mayhem, broad humour, usual musical interludes, a cliffhanging climactic confrontation and a finish that strikes a note of poignancy.'

Ravaan earns 530 millions

100 cr loss in Raavan Movie 2010 - Kites Movie

Whatever may be the reviews for Raavan, but what matters is how much business the film does. As per the box-office figures released by Reliance Big Pictures, one of the co-producers of the film, Raavan has done a business of Rs. 530 million. The Tamil version of the film starring the South India superstar Vikram took away the screen as compared to the Telugu version. The Tamil version did a business of around Rs. 110 million while the the Telugu version earned Rs. 40 million, stated the Reliance Big Pictures executive.

Though the reviews of the Tamil version were better than the Hindi make, but the pairing of Abhishek Bachchan with his wife Aishwarya Bachchan, has acted as a magic wand from and pocketed up to Rs 380 million at the box-office.

Initially the film had a mixed response and couldn't hit the screen as powerfully as Houseful or Badmaash Company, Kites and Rajneeti, stated the Box-office trackers. But from Saturday onwards the film took over the screen. The numbers in millions proves the point.

Diving Abhishek in Raavan just a fake?

Mani Ratnam’s much awaited film Raavan released last week after a huge promotion. The film opened with a moderate response but the lead actor Abhishek Bachchan , is already in the news, not for his role but for a controversy.

MS Balram, a former national diving champion, has claimed that the actor is lying. He said that Abhishek’s breathtaking dive off a cliff scene was done by him and not by the actor himself. The shot was used in the promotions of the movie many times as a special attraction.

The death defying stunt has turned out to be a source of trouble for the filmmaker now. The Bangalore-based diving champion Balram said that he has great respect for Abhishek and Mani Ratnam but at the same time, it is wrong to say that the actor did the stunt himself. The actor claimed that no body double was used.

Balram said that he is proud to be a part of Raavan and just wants to set the record straight. While interacting with media, the junior Bachchan claimed, “I went ahead to do the dive scenes myself even though Mani Ratnam opposed it.”

An uncomfortable Balram stated, “I am not here to create any controversy or to attract publicity because personally, I am a big fan of the Bachchans. I just want Mani Ratnam sir’s movie to do well. But, it is also true that I was paid for doing the stunt and I am proud that I could do it.”

Blaram claims that he was offered to do the stunt in 2008 through a friend, who worked with Mani Ratnam’s team. He now monitors the training at the Kempe Gowda Swimming Pool at Hanumanthanagar in Bangalore.

The stuntman added, “My brother Bhushan persuaded me to accept the offer. I joined the team at Hoggenakkal, where it was filmed. I had gone through many dry runs before I gave the final shot on December 19, 2008.”

The truth is best known by the team of Raavan but the audience must have enjoyed the excellent diving scene from a high cliff!

Kareena to play a sex worker in Sanjay's film

Bebo is set to play the role of a sex-worker in the film Heera Mandi by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The project will start rolling after Sanjay will be done with his current project Guzaarish with Hrithik Roshan. Kareena Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bansali were looking forward to work together from very long but due to personal and professional reasons their plans fell apart every time.

It is reported that once Kareena will return from the shoot of Agent Vijay from Morocco they would finalise the project. They have been trying to work together on a lot of projects one of them was Bijirao Mastain with actor Salman Khan but the plan was canceled after the flop story of the film Kyun ki. The other projects like Mahatma Gandhi's son also failed to reach the completion point.

Then movie Black with actor Amitabh Bacchan kept film maker Sanjay busy and on the other hand Kareena was upset about Karishma's break up with Abhishek Bachchan. But now, we hope to see them together very soon.

Shakira’s Bollywood cabaret song

Shakira can sing. She has a great range and her musical style is easy to adapt to Indian melodies,” says music composer, Salim.

The reason why he’s praising the singing talent is because Salim and Sulaiman are getting to compose a track for her in an upcoming movie, featuring entrepreneur Sachin Joshi, the sponsor of the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Latin American sensation, Shakira, will mark her Bollywood debut with this project — which few people have heard about.

Salim confirms reports but is hesitant to divulge any information on the film. “It’s too early to talk about the film, but we are going to start recording the track sometime next month if all goes as planned. Sulaiman and I have already got the sample track ready and we know the basic melody structure we will be using for the song. It is a cabaret style and we will be infusing a lot of her Latin influences ,” Salim says.

The dance track will be filmed on South African model, Candice Boucher. The lyrics will mostly be in English, with a little Hindi thrown in. For the same, Salim is planning on taking Shakira to a dialect coach to get her accent right.

The Emmy-nominated duo is excited about recording the track and say they would like to mix it in a Hollywood studio. “We want to record in our studio, but would like to get the final track mixed by her engineers. The vocals need to stand out,” Salim enthuses.

Porn star files paternity suit against Woods

Porn star Devon James, who alleged that ace golfer Tiger Woods is the father of her nine-year-old son Austin, has filed a paternity suit against him.

James filed legal documents on Thursday in Florida in the US, asking a judge to determine the paternity of her son, reports contactmusic.com.

She insists Woods has never taken a paternity test to prove he's the father of her son and she was keen to force her alleged ex-lover to submit to DNA testing.

However, James' mother, who currently has the custody of the boy, claims a DNA test was performed in 2002 and it was proved the golfer was not the father.

Katrina Kaif’s Raajneeti opens big

katrina-kaif-wishes-to-work-in-a-typical-yash-chopra-love-story

Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti seems to have lived up to the expectations of the audience as it made the biggest opening of the year this weekend. According to film critic Taran Adarsh, the film has received a huge response despite releasing in fewer screens and lesser shows than Housefull and Kites.

The multi-starrer film has made the second biggest opening ever, following 3 Idiots which had released last year. However, Adarsh is quick to point out that 3 Idiots had released on the Christmas weekend and even Monday had been a holiday.

According to Rediff.com, the film which reportedly cost Rs 55 crore for making and promotion, managed to gross a whopping Rs 10.5 crore on the first day itself and about Rs 33-35 crore over the weekend. This puts the film in a position to achieve record collections in the course of its theatrical run, especially as there is no big movie scheduled for release the next weekend, giving Raajneeti an uninterrupted 14 day solo theatrical run.

Raajneeti has been particularly well received in urban centres and across North India, with occupancies above 80%, reported rediff.com.

Latino Hottie Shakira to rock Bollywood

After Akon for Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.1 it is now the Latin American sensation Shakira's turn to rock in a Bollywood song.

The number, a frenzied dance track to be filmed on South African model Candice Boucher for the film featuring the IPL owner and entrepreneur Sachin Joshi, will be recorded in the next couple of months.

Shakira is no stranger to India. She has performed live in Mumbai and other cities in 2007 and has repeatedly expressed a desire to be part of the Bollywood film industry.

Says a source, “Sachin Joshi who's helming and starring in the project is in touch with Shakira and she has agreed to sing for Salim-Sulaiman. The lyrics would in English but with a smattering of easy Hindi. It won't be a duet like the song Kylie Minogue sang on Tony D'Souza's Blue. It'd be a Shakira solo dhamaka.”

Composer Salim of Salim-Sulaiman confirms the happening. “It would be a very sensuous cabaret kind of song.”

Jennifer Aniston to go topless on screen

Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston has given the nod to her first ever topless scene in a film which will see her paired up with heartthrob Colin Farell. http://www.hindustantimes.com/images/HTEditImages/Images/aniston.jpg

The Friends star who is known for her 'girl next door' image will shoot a love scene with Farell, 34, in the film.

The 42-year-old will be seen playing a sex-obsessed, kinky dentist in Horrible Bosses, reported Sun online.

Her role in the film is said to be a "total departure" from her usual romantic comedy characters.

Aniston has previously only appeared partially nude in a blurred scene in the 2007 film The Break-Up.

"It was worked out before she signed her contract, so she's committed," said a source on the sets of the film. The actress has never stripped on screen, but has posed for magazines with her clothes off.

Last year, to celebrate her 40th birthday, Aniston had posed naked for GQ magazine with only a tie to cover her modesty.

Devon James claims her son Austin T James was sired by Tiger Woods

Just when the world thought the Tiger Woods sex scandal is dying down, yet another shocker has emerged. The golfing legend allegedly fathered a love child with porn star and escort Devon James.

According to Devon, she gave birth to Austin in 2001. Incidentally, this was right about the same time Woods' wife Elin Nordegren was expecting their first child.

The porn star kept the birth of her son a secret until Tiger Woods got back in touch with her. Woods apparently brought nine-year-old Austin a hat and a golf club when he met him.

After the golfer's sex scandal surfaced in 2009, Devon decided to come out in the open about his love child.

"The world needs to know the truth about what was going on. There's a lot more involved that he's led on to believe," she said.

However, Devon James has admitted that Woods never took a paternity test to ascertain that Austin was his son.

Bollywood babes pose completely naked

Wearing a two piece bikini and smooching co-stars onscreen can take a back seat for posing nude is going to be the next bold thing to do in B town! It may not be the ‘IT’ thing to do in Hollywood for even their A grade stars don’t mind doing the strip tease for magazine covers or films. But it’s certainly raising eyebrows in Bollywood. We list some actresses who gained popularity when they posed completely nude...

/photo.cms?msid=6050950

Recently Aruna Shields made news for posing completely nude in a Hindi film. The actress of foreign origin who recently made her Bollywood debut opposite Vivek Oberoi in Prince is bold enough to pose completely nude in her second Hindi film Mr Singh Mrs Mehta . Apparently around 60 girls rejected the film before Aruna Shields green-lit the project because they were wary of posing nude.

Aruna plays the muse for a nude painting. For a girl who is trapped in middle class morality, to reach a point where she not only poses naked in front of a man who is not her husband but also doesn’t care what the world will think when the painting becomes public, it is a tough journey towards self-discovery.

Shields plays an agony aunt columnist who discovers her husband is cheating on her. The scene where she poses nude to be painted on canvas by costar Prashant Narayanan reminds of the scene where Leonardo DiCaprio painted a nude Kate Winslet on the canvas in Titanic .

Shakira's solo Bollywood dhamaka

Bollywood seems to be attracting musicians from abroad.

Most recently it was Kylie Minogue who sang a song for Blue and Akon who is doing the honours for Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One.

Now, the latest entrant to jump into the Bollywood singing bandwagon is Columbian songstress Shakira, who is set to to rock in a song for composer duo Salim-Sulaiman.

Shakira is no stranger to India. She had performed live in Mumbai and other cities back in 2007. She also has repeatedly expressed her desire to be a part of Bollywood.

According to Oneindia website, the song will be shot on South African model Candice Boucher for the film featuring the IPL owner and entrepreneur Sachin Joshi. The film is expected to be recorded in the next couple of months.

'The lyrics would be in English with a smattering of simple Hindi. It won't be a duet like the Kylie Minogue song in Blue. It'd be a Shakira solo dhamaka,' the website quoted a source as saying.

Salim has confirmed the news. 'It would be a very sensuous, cabaret kind of a song,' the website reported him as saying.

Kat’s missing Mumbai rains

It’s been barely a few days, but Katrina Kaif, who’s currently in Spain shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara in Spain, is already missing Mumbai. That’s what Rapchik Rajni is claming as she sashays her way into my den. What are you talking about, I wonder and she replies that the Raajneeti actress is dukhi to hear that it’s started raining here.

Nah, before you express any shock, let me tell you that Katrina, in fact, loves the rains, the smell of wet earth, the thandi thandi hawayein and all that. So much so that she steps out in the bheegi rut to feel the raindrops on her pretty face.

So she’s telling her co-workers how she wishes she could savour the Mumbai ki baarish, since she’s not going to be in the city for a while to experience all that. Yeah, after wrapping up Akhtar’s movie, the actress will be joining Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham for Dostana 2 in London. Hmm.

Actress Kristen Stewart, winner of the Best Female Performance award for 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon,' speaks at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles, June 6, 2010.

Actor Taylor Lautner has shared his difficulty while filming the third instalment of the 'Twilight' franchise saying it was not easy to fight with his co-star and friend Robert Pattinson.

In the film, Lautner plays Jacob Black and he is supposed to hate vampire Edward Cullen (Pattinson).

'One of the most challenging things about filming this was having to hate Edward, because I'm looking at Rob (Pattinson) and it was difficult,' aceshowbiz.com quoted Lautner as saying.

'Every time we'd have a shouting match or he'd grab me on the shoulder or something, as soon as they called cut, we'd bust out laughing. Or we'd ruin plenty of takes,' he added.

Ash breaks rule, pays Abhishek a surprise visit

The Bachchans normally do not mix business with pleasure. But when Aishwarya Rai landed in Mumbai from Paris, she broke the golden rule when she dropped in unannounced to meet her actor husband Abhishek Bachchan at the Reliance Web World where he was doing out-of-town press interviews.

"Lately, Abhishek and Aishwarya have had very little time to spend together," said a source close to the actress who made the surprise visit Thursday.

"After their short anniversary holiday, Abhishek got busy with the shooting of Abhinay Deo's 'Game' in Greece, while Aishwarya returned to India for a stint of 'Robot'. She was then in Paris to honour (retired former World No.1 Brazilian tennis player) Gustavo Kuerten for his work with disadvantaged children."

"At the charity dinner that followed Aishwarya bonded with Steffi Graf and Mary Pierce and kept missing Abhishek because he's a big fan of both."

Both Abhishek and Aishwarya will be seen together in Mani Ratnam's "Raavan", but not as a couple. While southern star Vikram plays Ash's husband, Abhishek will be seen as her abductor. The film is releasing Friday.

The minute she landed in Mumbai from Paris, Aishwarya asked the family driver to take her wherever Abhishek was. A first for her because normally she doesn't intrude when her husband is working. Even when she joins him on long outdoors, she never hangs around the sets when he's shooting.

Said a friend of Aishwarya: "This time she made an exception because she was missing Abhishek all the way from Paris to Mumbai. And besides, Abhishek was doing promotional work for their film together. She not only met him, she also joined impromptu to talk to their fans on radio in Jaipur and Ahmedabad."

Another family friend said: "The funny part is, the Bachchans are never together these days. Now that Aishwarya is home, the senior Bachchan left for Paris...."

I Hate Luv Storys captures scenic beauty of NZ

I hate luv storys

Ten years after Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was shot in New Zealand, filmmaker Karan Johar's up-coming film I Hate Luv Storys has captured the scenic beauty of this place.

The lead pair Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan are totally in awe of the beauty and cuisine of Queenstown in New Zealand.

The young heartthrobs enjoyed a number of adventure sports and several mouth-watering delicacies while shooting in the resort town.

"Queenstown is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The landscape is spectacular and very diverse. The scenery changes from steep mountains and lakes to green fields and river canyons. Also, the food is awesome," Sonam said.

Imran, who is more into adventure sports, said, "The big thing to do here is adventure sports - bungee jumping, white water rafting, skydiving, mountain biking... the list is endless."

Both Sonam and Imran were often caught hogging on a multi-storied, double-bonanza burger from Fergburger in Queenstown.

I Hate Luv Storys is a romantic comedy directed by debutante Punit Malhotra and will hit theatres on July 2. The film has Sonam playing a 'filmi' romantic person while Imran plays a cynic who hates typical 'Bollywood' love stories.

A R Rahman begins his whirlwind journey home

A R Rahman, the only Indian movie composer with a star-power to send thousands of music lovers into foot-tapping ecstasy at live concerts, begins his newest round of North American and European tour with a performance at the Nassau Coliseum in New York on Friday.

The June 11 event will be followed by a concert at Atlantic City the next day. Rahman and his fellow artists including Hariharan, Javed Ali and Benny Dayal will continue performing in more than 16 cities including Chicago, Houston, Toronto and Vancouver, London and several other cities in Europe.

Called the "A R Rahman Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour," it is his first international tour after winning two Oscars and two Grammy awards for the score of the worldwide multiple Oscar winning hit, Slumdog Millionaire.

"We are using the words Journey Home (which is also the title of Rahman's stage hit in London, Bombay Dreams) because for nearly a year Rahman has been out of India, working in Hollywood and the UK," said the International promoter for the tour Deepak Gattani, who has organised over 100 Rahman concerts.

Included among them is a series of concerts in India that beckoned an unprecedented 100,000 music lovers in Kolkata a few years ago.

"I have always believed a concert is made enjoyable with dances and visuals accompanying them," Rahman, whose music from his latest film Raavan is leading the charts, said. "This time we have some of the best American technicians and stage managers helping us create a streamlined and exciting show."

What’s Bipasha Basu’s latest goal?

Bipasha Basu
Bipasha Basu has grand plans for the Fifa World Cup. The actor, along with her boyfriend John Abraham, is planning to visit South Africa for the games. If everything goes according to plan, Bipasha will watch the semi-finals or the finals of the World Cup.

Bipasha says, “It would be great to be in South Africa for the World Cup. I love the excitement that the game provides as it is just a matter of about two hours that decides who the winner is. It is fast paced and it gives me a huge adrenaline rush.”

Ask Bipasha about John’s travel plans, and she says, “John is doing some sports-based work in and around the World Cup but we have discussed the possibility (of travelling together). It would be great fun to watch it with John as I got really hooked on to the game because of him. His understanding of the game is superb.

Everything can wait for John when the World Cup is on.”

A few years ago Bipasha was dragged into controversy after her alleged pictures with Portugal footballer Cristiano Ronaldo at a nightclub were splashed (see box). So, we asked her to reveal who her favourite football star is and which team she is rooting for?

“I don’t want to take sides as I feel every team and player who will fight it out are the best and that is the reason they have reached the World Cup. I want to see some fascinating football and great action and excitement. I want to see good players and good teams on a given day to emerge victorious. I will cheer for all of them because all the teams and players have a fascinating history. For me, John is a very good football player. So, I wish he was playing. Then I would have had a clear winner to cheer,” she ends, smiling.

Salman to pair up with Katrina for Bachchans’ film?

salman-and-katrina-will-soon-be-seen-together-on-screen

Here is some great news for Salman Khan’s fans! The actor will be seen in a new film with ‘girl-friend’ Katrina Kaif and the script is to be loosely based on the life-story of Amitabh Bachchan and his wife Jaya Bachchan. The concept of the film has been introduced by none other than the Bachchans’ die-hard supporter and loyalist ‘bhai’ Amar Singh, who is keen on portraying the extraordinary life of Big B onscreen.

But here’s a twist! If sources are to be believed - in the film Katrina’s character will be based on Amitabh while Salman will play Jaya Bachchans’ role. Sources even reveal that when Amar Singh conveyed the idea to Katrina, she was ecstatic and agreed to act in the film. It seems that Salman Khan has not been approached yet.

Another aspect of the film will be that there will be no dialogues and Amar Singh has decided to incorporate recordings of phone taps for the background score.

So, gear up to watch Sallu-Kat magic once again!

Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu are friends now

They share a long history of animosity. Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu have always had cold vibes towards each other. But during IIFA in Colombo, Kareena forgot her past differences and personally invited Bipasha to a rather private party hosted by her and boyfriend Saif Ali Khan.

A lot of other celebs like Hrithik Roshan, Fardeen Khan, Vivek Oberoi and Jacqueline Fernandez were also invited at the party, but it was Kareena and Bipasha who were the centre of attention. The two ladies were pretty cordial towards each other and chatted about films and fashion.

Chatterati in B-town are seeing this as a burying of hatchet by the two actresses who have passed quite acerbic comments on each other in public. It’s no secret that Kareena called Bipasha’s beau John Abraham “expressionless” in a TV show. Later, Bipasha called Kareena as an actress “with too many expressions” on the same show.

A source tells us that Saif Ali Khan, who’s always remained a friend to Bipasha, was pivotal in changing Kareena’s attitude towards Bips. And once an olive branch was extended, even Bips couldn’t resist holding out a hand of friendship.
